🐄  Feed Truck Operator 
Employment Type: Full-Time

🧑‍🌾 Job Summary
We’re seeking a reliable and motivated Feed Truck Operator to join our feeding team. This role is essential to ensuring cattle receive accurate and timely rations each day. If you’re mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and enjoy working outdoors with livestock, this is a great opportunity to be part of a high-performance operation.
🔧 Responsibilities
  • Operate feed truck to deliver daily rations to pens according to feed sheets
  • Mix and load feed accurately using computerized or manual systems
  • Monitor feed inventories and communicate with feed mill personnel
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on feed truck and equipment
  • Assist with bunk reading and adjusting rations as needed
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety of equipment and work areas
  • Collaborate with yard and nutrition teams to ensure optimal cattle performance
✅ Qualifications
  • Valid driver’s license (Class 1A or equivalent preferred but not required)
  • Experience operating feed trucks or heavy equipment (preferred)
  • Basic mechanical skills and ability to troubleshoot equipment
  • Must be comfortable with an automated feed system including iPad and computer
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to animal welfare
  • Team player with good communication skills

🐄 CALVING AND HERD HEALTH TECHNICIAN

📋 Job Summary
As a Calving and Herd Health Technician, you will play a critical role in monitoring calving activities and maintaining herd wellness. This position requires hands-on experience, sharp observational skills, and a passion for livestock care.

🐮 Primary Responsibilities
  • Assist with calving to ensure successful deliveries
  • Provide newborn care, including administering colostrum and conducting health checks
  • Administer treatments, vaccinations, and medications as directed
  • Observe and document signs of illness or injury
  • Track reproductive cycles and assist in artificial insemination
  • Maintain biosecurity standards and a clean calving environment
  • Use livestock software and maintain accurate health records
  • Operate and maintain relevant farm equipment

🎓 Qualifications
  • Diploma or certificate in Animal Health Technology or Veterinary Technician program – or program of equivalent status
  • Practical experience with cattle care, especially around calving
  • Knowledge of bovine anatomy and reproductive physiology
  • Physical stamina to work in barn and pasture environments
  • Organized, detail-oriented, comfortable on a computer (livestock software knowledge a plus)

🏥 Work Environment
  • Farm, ranch, or veterinary facility setting
  • Exposure to livestock, barn equipment, and biohazards
  • Evening, weekend, and on-call shifts may be required 


FEEDLOT PEN CHECKER/HERD HEALTH STAFF:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Currently seeking person with some cattle experience to ride through pens and spot for sickness, pull and treat cattle. Looking for someone with some cattle disease knowledge and willingness to develop that knowledge. Other duties will include shipping, processing, corral maintenance, bedding within the feedlot. Should be able to work well with others.

DAILY RESPONSIBITIES:
  • Check pens on a horse when possible (on foot when needed) as directed by manager 
  • Follow treatment protocol as outlined by veterinarian
  • Follow safe livestock handling procedures
  • Report broken fences, broken or frozen water bowls, bunk concerns, etc. that could affect herd health or safety of cattle and assist in repair when available
  • Process cattle upon arrival as well as per protocol throughout feed season
  • Weigh and load cattle for shipping
  • Assist in general labor jobs 
  • Self-Motivated and have good verbal communication skills

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Seeding/Silage and Harvest participation
  • Assist with calving and monitoring of commercial herd

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
  • Livestock experience and/or farm background
  • Must be comfortable on a horse
  • Self-Motivated
  • Good attitude – Must be a Team Player
  • Must be able to learn on-site
  • An interest in developing knowledge of livestock disease and treatment
