FEEDLOT PEN CHECKER/HERD HEALTH STAFF:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Currently seeking person with some cattle experience to ride through pens and spot for sickness, pull and treat cattle. Looking for someone with some cattle disease knowledge and willingness to develop that knowledge. Other duties will include shipping, processing, corral maintenance, bedding within the feedlot. Should be able to work well with others.
DAILY RESPONSIBITIES:
- Check pens on a horse when possible (on foot when needed) as directed by manager
- Follow treatment protocol as outlined by veterinarian
- Follow safe livestock handling procedures
- Report broken fences, broken or frozen water bowls, bunk concerns, etc. that could affect herd health or safety of cattle and assist in repair when available
- Process cattle upon arrival as well as per protocol throughout feed season
- Weigh and load cattle for shipping
- Assist in general labor jobs
- Self-Motivated and have good verbal communication skills
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Seeding/Silage and Harvest participation
- Assist with calving and monitoring of commercial herd
EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Livestock experience and/or farm background
- Must be comfortable on a horse
- Self-Motivated
- Good attitude – Must be a Team Player
- Must be able to learn on-site
- An interest in developing knowledge of livestock disease and treatment

FEEDTRUCK OPERATOR:
JOB DESCRIPTION:
We are currently seeking someone with livestock experience to provide daily feed to pens. This individual should possess a farm background and have a general knowledge of cattle. Tandem truck and loader experience is definitely an asset.
JOB DUTIES:
- Accurately and consistently feed cattle in a timely manner in the same order and same time every day.
- Build rations with accurate and consistent ingredients.
- Be comfortable with digital feed technology
- Follow mixing instructions as per ration sheets
- Spread feed evenly across entire bunk and clean any spills to reduce waste.
- Maintain tidiness of silage pit and practice good silage-face management.
- Operate, clean and maintain tidiness of mill and mill area.
- Report pen maintenance issues or cattle health issues to Feedlot Manager(s) so problems can be rectified as soon as possible
- Report any feeding errors or discrepancies to Feedlot Manager(s).
- Adhere to the Feed Truck Maintenance Schedule and pre-trip inspections.
- Run equipment – such as loader, tractor, feedtruck, etc.
- Other duties as assigned by the Feedlot Manager(s) and/or Operations Manager.
- Rotating day shift schedule requires some weekend shifts.

EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:
- Livestock experience and/or farm background mandatory
- Previous feedlot experience is an asset however we are willing to train the right individual.
